SCHOOL at the corner of Richmond Ave and North Street! Use the

The parents are going to have a SIGN
PAINTING Gathering at the Shamrock
Pub on Tuesday night at 7:00 PM. Cheryl Lambrecht is our master
sign designer and will coordinate a spirit sign to hang in the Commons on
Wednesday (or Thursday?) to give the team a boost before the Pekin meet.

We will need LOTS of PICTURES
to compile the video for the Team Banquet at the end of the
season. We encourage parents to take pictures during the meets whenever
possible. (Remember, though, parents/non-team members are not allowed on the
pool deck during meets.) Ching Zedric may be able to come to some of our meets
to take photos, but we still need parents to help capture season memories with
photos! Say cheese!!

Instead of trying to type out directions to Pekin Pool and Goodfellas,
I am going to send copies of a map to practice on
Monday.

Some general info about meets:
Dual meets (ND vs. one other school) usually last about 2 hours. For the Pekin
meet, Varsity A swimmers will swim a max of 4 events, and Varsity B may only
swim one or two events. This formula changes depending on the size/experience
level of the team we are competing against. Derek and Tracy decide which events
each swimmer participates in--they typically go over this with the team the day
before the upcoming meet. Most schools have bleachers and the spectator areas
tend to be very warm! The order of events can be followed by looking at the
Record Board posted in the pool area, but typically there will be four events
(maybe several heats of the same event) followed by diving, a warm-up for the
swimmers, then the remaining events (again, sometimes several heats).

Remember - current SPORTS
PHYSICALS need to be turned into Derek or Tracy right
