Richwoods Dual Meet

The Richwoods dual meet is on Thursday, December 12 at 4:30pm.

The boys will be dismissed from school at 3pm.  We will take a bus over to Richwoods for our 3:30pm warmup session.  The bus will also take the boys back to PND after the meet.  I like the boys to ride the bus back to school as team.  I typically award the swimmer of the meet honors on the bus ride home.

A high school dual meet will typically last 90 minutes depending on the number of divers.

In the dual meet format, each team is allowed three entries per event.  There is one heat of each event.  There will be an exhibition heat of the 50 free and the 100 free at the Richwoods dual meet.

Events are scored as 6 points for 1st, 4 points for 2nd, 3 points for 3rd, 2 points for 4th, and 1 point for 5th.  Relay are 8 for first, 4 for second, and 2 for third.  You can only score twice in the relays.

For those that are new to high school swimming, here is the order of events.
1) 200 medley relay
2) 200 freestyle
3) 200 individual medley
4) 50 free
5) diving
6) 100 butterfly
7) 100 freestyle
8) 500 freestyle
9) 200 free relay
10) 100 backstroke
11) 100 breaststroke
12) 400 free relay

I will post the lineup tomorrow so that you know what your son is swimming.  The meet will be held at Richwoods high school.  There is a separate swimming entrance at the left side of the circle drive next to the school.
