Hello, former walkers with "3 Coffeys, No Sugar!"
Please mark your calendars for Sunday, September 13, 2009 for the 5th annual Central Illinois Walk to Cure Diabetes!
We are now being staffed by the Illinois Chapter of JDRF, which is located in Chicago. I will dearly miss our dedicated and friendly staff people from Iowa, but I am excited because the Illinois Chapter is the top-earning chapter in the entire country, and they are going to take our walk to new heights!
One big change is that we are now considered one of their walk "sites", so we are officially the Ron Santo Walk to Cure Diabetes. I will let you know if Ron Santo will be making an appearance at our walk!
For now, please mark your calendars for Sunday, September 13. Stay tuned for more information about our walk team, and it isn't too early to register online! To register, click here: http://walk.jdrf.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=walk.walk&eventID=5142&chapterid=4160

Streid earned a medal with a fifth place finish in the 100-butterfly at the state meet in November. She also earned a state medal as part of the 400-freestyle relay team.
Streid swam on the 400-freestyle relay and 200-IM relay teams that currently hold the Notre Dame school records.
Streid held the school record in the 100-backstroke until her teammate, sophomore Becky Stoughton, broke the record this season.
Earlier in the season, Notre Dame coach Derek Amerman described Streid as “tenacious, talented, a superb athlete, determined. under-rated and easy-going...”
