Celebrating Our 2nd Place Finish at SHG Milestone

Peoria Time Observer Article

My favorite part about this article is the caption about Brian winning the 100 freestyle. This is funny for two reasons. 1) He didn't swim the 100 freestyle, and 2) this is a picture of him swimming backstroke.

Swimmers/Divers of the Meet - Dunlap Dual

Jay Bell, Jake Bridenbaugh, and Jon Querciagrossa earned Swimmer/Diver of the meet today for their gutsy performances.

Jay Bell set a personal best score in diving and finished in first place.

Jon Querciagrossa gutted out the last 25 yards of the 200 free for a slim margin of victory, but a victory all the same. I thought that the race was over, but Jon proved that it isn't over until everyone finishes.

Jake Bridenbaugh gutted out a solid 50 free leg in the 200 free relay for the first place finish. You don't see this kind of swim very often - he swam the last 25 without breathing.

Article on Joe Rogers

I thought that I should share this article. Ray Wood, who works the front desk at River City, gave me this photocopy of the article. At the bottom, Ray wrote about how he first met Joe. Joe was on my first team, and he helped me form the foundation of PND Swimming & Diving.

Swimmer of the Meet - Irish Invite

Lee Schatsiek and John Bolden earned swimmer of the meet honors. I don't normally award this honor to the same swimmer in back to back meets, but John keeps getting better and better. He had two more lifetime bests in the 200 free and the 100 backstroke. Lee stepped up did a lifetime best leadoff leg in the 200 Free relay with a 24.66 and he also did a lifetime best in 100 Breaststroke.

Compliments from Hollis (by the Schatsieks)

I just wanted to pass on compliments to the girls team. Please forward this to all the girls who went to Hollis. Steve picked up some of the cabinets this morning and the maintenance man told him how much he enjoyed the girls. He said they were so nice, and friendly, and never left a crumb in the cafeteria! He really liked having their company and misses them. He said they are great kids and he'll miss them. He said people always complain and he wanted us to know what good people they were.

Way to go girls! Thanks for representing yourselves, your school and your team in such a positive light!By the way, he said the coaches were really great too and Derek is really funny!

What a great compliment! I believe every word, except the part about Derek. (Shawn)

Meet Schedule Posted

I have posted a printable version of the Meet schedule on the right hand navigation bar. You can use this for a quick reference of the meets. I have also taken the liberty of "pre-counting" the meets so that everyone can clearly see that we have only 14 meets. We may only have 13 meets depending on what happens with Manual. Enjoy.
