Pekin Dual - Swimmer of the Meet

Swimmer of the meet was awarded to Jake Bridenbaugh for his school record in the 100 Butterfly, Jake Querciagrossa for his school record in the 100 Breaststroke, and Jay Bell for his outstanding dives and personal best performance.

Jake B's broke the oldest record on the board. Jack Negro's previous mark of 55.07 has been around since 1996. The new standard is 54.70.

Jake Q set the new breaststroke record at 1:03.47.

Interpreting the Lineup Sheets

I received a few questions about the lineup sheets that I posted for Pekin and Macomb. Here is an explanation of some elements of the lineup sheet.

The 'VR' stands for Varsity.
The fractions are Heat and Lane assignments (1/2=Heat 1, Lane 2)
The time is that swimmer's best time for that event in my database. All times are followed by a 'Y' to designate a yards time as opposed to a meters time.
The 'NT' stands for No Time which means they have never swam it or I don't have a time in my database for that swimmer in that event.
You will also notice that some people have an 'X' next to their seed time. This designates an exhibition entry.

Team Mass - January 27th

We will have a Team and Family Mass at St. Vincient's on Sunday, January 27th at noon. Please plan to bring the entire family to celebrate Mass.

Macomb Lineup

Download the Macomb Lineup. Only those in the lineup will travel to Macomb. All other swimmers and divers will have the day off. There is no diving event at the Macomb Invite.

Team Apparel Ordering Update (from AJ Q.)

We have opened up the site again for orders. There are a limited number
of items available. We did list the printed T-Shirts and Sweatshirts
but will need to have a minimum number of items ordered for us to get
them printed a second time. Please order what you need and I will be
talking with Action Accents this Friday to see where we are with
quantity.

Action Accents was not able to offer the drag suits as they are on back
order from Speedo. I do have some sizes available and will have them at
the Pekin Pizza Night this Friday if you want to get one.

Parent's Practice/Last day to order t-shirts

This Saturday Nov. 24th is our annual parent's practice. Please arrive around 9:30a.m. We will train parent's to time, it's always a fun practice!
The last day to order the team t-shirt for your boys is Nov. 28th. Forms will be available at practice. Your boys will definitely want one of these shirts!

Thanksgiving Practice

We will have practice on Thanksgiving morning from 8-10am at Central Park Pool. If you have family obligations that prevent you from attending, you are excused from practice. If you do not have any family obligations during that time, it is my expectation that you attend practice.

Updated Practice Schedule

I have posted an updated version of the practice schedule on the right hand navigation bar. There are two key changes.

1) Morning weight workouts at PND will begin at 6:15am
2) Morning swim workouts will be held at the Clubs at Rivercity, located at 8603 N. University St. Peoria, IL.

For the first week, we will only have a few swimmers attend morning practice. After the first week, I will expand morning swim sessions to include the entire Varsity squad. All team members are expected to attend the morning weight sessions at PND.

Becky Stoughton on WHOI

Derek informed me that Jim Mattson was on location to film Becky last night for the Athlete of the Week award. Be on the lookout for the story to air on WHOI on Wednesday at 6pm.
